ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Did Lea Michele and Chris Colfer have input on how their character’s style would change once they moved to New York City?
ELIZABETH MARTUCCI: I always enjoy hearing the actors’ thoughts, it’s a collaboration. I’ve been with the show since the second season, so we’re not starting fresh. We have relationships and there’s already trust there.
One of the things that doesn’t appear to have changed is that Rachel still loves a signature necklace.
Rachel has an iconic necklace each season — we’ve been using necklaces from jewelry designer Ryan Ryan since the second season — in the past we’ve done an ‘R,’ ‘Finn,’ a star and an apple. Lea and I were discussing where the storyline was going and she hit on Carrie Bradshaw’s ‘Carrie’ nameplate from Sex and the City. We made a version of that for Rachel, it’s a fun character piece for her move to New York City.
Unlike Kurt, Rachel isn’t into contemporary style. How does her retro look change?
At the beginning of season 4, we see an updated version of Rachel’s classic season 1 style. A little bit of East coast prep with the berets and knee socks and other fun elements. Part way through the season, she gets some help and her style really starts to shift.
Who’s the good samaritan that helps Rachel update her wardrobe?
When Kurt gets his internship at Vogue, he has a style intervention for Rachel. That’s when she really embraces New York City and her new life as a young adult. Her outfits become more sophisticated and body-conscious. Once she makes the transition, you’ll see her wearing edgier clothes from lines like Trina Turk, Rag & Bone and Alexander Wang.
Other than the script, what inspired Kurt and Rachel’s new looks?
Little things can inspire a great costume, so I keep my eyes open everywhere I go. I haven’t been to Fashion Week in a while because the hours and the pace of [working on Glee] are so demanding, but I definitely watch the shows online. I also follow fashion blogs like The Sartorialist to keep me current.
People say that New Yorkers wear too much black. Will Rachel’s new wardrobe be less colorful?
With a transition into a big city it’s natural for an artist to assimilate their surroundings. She’s been dreaming about living in New York her whole life, so she’s bringing her fashion A-game.

This is a sticky post, please scroll down for updates.
As many of you know, ‘Glee: The Complete Third Season’ was released on Blu-ray and DVD a few weeks ago. While I own the DVD, I have no idea how to make screencaptures from said DVD. This is where you (hopefully) come in.
If you own a copy of the season on DVD or Blu-ray and you would be willing to make screencaptures of the extras for the site, please contact me. Full credit will be given (your name would be listed here for everyone to see, as well) and we would be forever grateful for the donation.
We are looking for someone (or more than one person) that owns a copy of any of the following:
and would be willing to make screencaptures of the DVD extras for the site gallery. It would also be amazing if there’s someone who can make screenshots from the DVD menus of any of the above DVD/Blu-ray.
I own almost all the DVDs mentioned above (expect for 5-8) but as I mentioned before I have no idea how to make screencaptures from DVDs and my computer is not Blu-ray capable. As for ‘New Year’s Eve’ needs to be on Blu-ray because that’s the version that all the DVD extras are on.
A few more notes:

Glee (Fox)
Premieres: Thursday, Sept. 13 at 9/8cWhere We Left Off: Eight members of New Directions graduated, including Rachel, who went on her own to New York after Finn decided to join the Army and end their engagement. And Coach Sue is preggers!
What’s Next: Everyone will be back, but it’s still pretty unclear exactly how the musical dramedy will work in Season 4 while splitting time between Lima and New York. (The latter location will feature guest stars Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker). Rachel will find a possible new love interest (Dean Geyer) at NYADA, but she’ll also struggle with the pressures to succeed. Also, Sue will be a mom, but fans will have to wait a while for the reveal of her famous baby daddy.

Rachel Berry, meet your new enemy.
Fox released a new video promoting the season premiere of Glee, and not only do we get our first good look at Kate Hudson’s character, Cassandra July, but we get an interview withCory Monteith, conducted by The Mindy Project’s Ike Barinholtz. And all he wants to know is: Will Finchel make it?!
Seriously, Ike has shipper issues.
After the interview, we’re treated to a scene featuring Rachel (Lea Michele) in her Dance 101 class at NYADA, and not 20 seconds later, Cassandra zeroes in on her, calling her “Little Miss David Schwimmer.” Yikes. It only goes downhill from there.
Check out the video below, and then head to the comments to tell us if you’re in a love-hate relationship with Hudson’s character, just like we are.

As you can see, we have a new layout up made by the always lovely Flor. I’ve been waiting for this layout for a little while now because Flor is a wonderful layout designer that has a lot of people wanting to order from her. In case you haven’t noticed, this layout matches the layout for our Photo Gallery which was recently treated to a HUGE update that put us over 80,000 images (we’re actually really close to 85,000 now!) I hope you guys enjoy the new layout and don’t hesitate to let me know what you think of it! (:
Don’t forget to enter the Nylon Mag contest we have going on that will be ending Thursday, August 30 at 12:00 am EST.
